It is the way this congregation seeks to fulfill its promises made to those who have been baptized. AOB also provides an opportunity to work with parents seeking to fulfill the promises they made at their child’s baptism. Our goal is to invite and encourage young people to take responsibility for their own faith journey. More on the Affirmation of Baptism Ministry.

Souper Bowl of Caring

Each year on Super-Bowl Sunday our congregation participates in the Souper Bowl of Caring. Young people all across this country join together to “love their neighbors” by collecting canned goods and money to feed the hungry. Our young people take a door offering at our worship services and collect canned goods. 75% of the money collected goes to the ELCA World Hunger Appeal and 25% goes directly to the McFarland Food Pantry. The canned goods also stay in our community.

MLC Post High School Mailing

This has always been a very important age group to keep in our prayers and remember with cards and/or care packages. Cards or packages are sent approximately four times a year to students out of high school and between the ages of 18 & 23. Anyone wishing to have their son/daughter receive “Post High School Mailings” should contact the church office with the current address of their child. If you are interested in helping with these fun mailings please contact our church office at 608-838-3184 or complete the sharing your time and talents form.

  • Volunteer Opportunities
  • Coordinate volunteers interested in assisting with this ministry
  • Gathering current addresses
  • Idea person—think of creative things to send
  • Shopping for items to be put in care packages
  • Writing personal messages
  • Addressing envelopes (can use labels on occasion ~ but it is really special if envelopes are handwritten)
  • Help assemble packages to be sent

If you are interested in contributing or participating in the MLC Post High School Mailing please contact our church office at 608-838-3184 or complete the sharing your time and talents form.
